We believe the church isn't about being or becoming perfect. It's about living out our faith in together. Jesus loves us as we are, but cares too much to let us stay that way. Our mission is to build transforming relationships, live out a relevant faith, and find ongoing restoration in Jesus Christ for ourselves and the world.
From the beginning of his time on earth, Jesus called together those who followed him. We need each other to chase God, grow in faith, and affect the world around us. For us, that means sharing life, sharing our hearts, and sharing our wisdom with each other. It takes both courage & humility - but God's got that covered.
It's one thing to know who Jesus is, and even believe he is your savior. A relevant faith is one that goes beyond what we know and makes a difference in who we are, how we live our lives, and how we make a difference in the world.
Turn on your smartphone or Netflix, or look at a billboard. There are plenty of options out there promising "a better you" if you just follow a plan someone is selling. Though some of those things can be helpful (and others harmful) they can not help us fulfill the purpose we were made for: restoration in Jesus. We are at our best when we give our life to him, and trust him to lead us. THAT is what we hope to help each other find.
The mission of the Brethren Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who, united in Christ, embrace and reflect God's love and live in the transforming presence and power of Holy Spirit.
